Marshfield offers an excellent choice of public or private educational opportunities. Our schools offer a safe, quality education second to none. Marshfield has some of the highest rated schools in the entire country. Marshfield High School is ranked number two in Wisconsin for Advance placement programs in Newsweek's list of 2007 top schools in the United States. 

Public Schools

The School District of Marshfield, a unified school district serves approximately 4,053 students. It employs 282 teachers and 164 support personnel. The Early Childhood/Kindergarten through twelfth grade (including a popular and successful 4-year old kindergarten program) structure involves four elementary schools within the city limits, one rural school, one middle school for grades seven and eight, and one high school for grades nine through twelve. The high school offers students the opportunity to participate in up to 22 different advanced placement classes to receive college credit.  Over 75% of the 2006 graduating class continued with post secondary education.

Private Schools

The Marshfield Area Catholic System, with campuses serving students in grades Pre-K through 12, exists to ensure a high quality, affordable, Catholic education in the greater Marshfield area. In cooperation with the Diocese of LaCrosse and sponsoring parishes, the Marshfield Area Catholic School System provides an outstanding program of studies.  Their nurturing environment promotes a Christian philosophy driven by the Catholic faith. They offer a grade 1-12 Spanish program, AP courses in all academic areas as well as a possible 12 credits through the Saint Mary's University Program for Advanced College Credit. Columbus Catholic High School has a 100% graduation rate and averages over 95% of their seniors pursuing a post secondary education.

Marshfield Christian School is a 4K-8th grade interdenominational school.  Their purpose is to partner with parents in developing young men and women who are strong in spirit, soul, body, and character.  They strive to develop life-long habits within our students that promote effective Christian living and service.  The benefits of MCS are low student/teacher ratio, a wholesome and safe environment, specialized instruction for art, music, physical education and foreign language.  They also offer extra-curricular activities in sports, drama and orchestra.  Call today for more information at (715) 387-8639.

Trinity Lutheran School- Serving students in grades Preschool through Eighth grade, exists to provide an affordable, quality Christian education to children in the Marshfield area.  Located on the corner of Half Mile Road and State Hwy. 13, approximately 1 mi. South of the Marshfield city limits.  Marshfield Bus Service to the school is free for all students within the Marshfield school district.  They serve from 50-85 students and have 5 teachers on our staff.  Ther Preschool is held two half days per week and Kindergarten is offered mornings 5 days per week.  Afternoon child care is available, as is after school care until 5:00 p.m. daily on a fee for service basis.  They have a Lutheran Pioneer program which provides fellowship, teaches teamwork and promotes community service.  "Trinity Lutheran School- Sharing God's Grace one child at a time!"  They are a member of the WELS (Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod) and our school is supported by Trinity Lutheran Church.   Pastor Jon Guenther and  Principal Todd Dahlke welcome you and your family.  Phone  (715) 676-2121.

Post Secondary Education

The University of Wisconsin Marshfield-Wood County, a two year campus in the University of Wisconsin System, offers two year programs leading to an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree and collaborative degree programs for a bachelors of science in Nursing with the UW-Eau Claire, bachelors degrees in General Studies, Business Administration, and Web and Digital Media Development with the UW - Stevens Point.  All credits are transferable and credit acceptance at all University of Wisconsin System four year universities is guaranteed.  Continuing education courses and a quality program of performing and visual arts are offered to the community. The Performing Arts Series offers new programs yearly. Enrollment for fall 2005 was 651 students.

Mid-State Technical College (MSTC) has assumed a vital leadership role in the development of the central Wisconsin workforce and economy. As one of 16 publicly supported colleges in the Wisconsin Technical College System, MSTC provides a dynamic learning environment that assists area residents in achieving their personal and career goals. MSTC also awards certificates for the successful completion of a single course or a combination of courses. Additionally, MSTC's Marshfield Campus offers apprenticeship opportunities as well as adult and continuing education courses and seminars, career awareness workshops, academic support services, incumbent worker training, and customized training for business and industry. Through credit, non-credit, and skill enhancement courses, MSTC has emerged as a driving force behind post-secondary education in central Wisconsin. Enrollment at the Marshfield campus for the 2006-07 school year was approximately 3000 students seeking upgraded skills by taking one course or by enrolling in a career program.
